News and Events

There is always something different happening in the town centre - whether it's an event, live music or our exciting Eat Reading campaign you'll want to come back again and again to enjoy the atmosphere.  Queen Victoria, Town Hall Square

Enjoy the experience!

Reading will be launching a campaign of special events and promotions all around the town centre, starting in April with The Oracle's big fashion event and model search. Then it's Children's Festival time - two weeks of fun for all ages with loads of free activities as well as our famous Town Centre Day - when Broad Street is taken over by children's performers, rides and attractions.

Through the summer you'll have plenty of reasons to keep coming back - whether you enjoy live music (watch out for the Sunday Band Concerts in The Forbury and Outside:Inside in town centre locations) or the joys of food in all its forms from kebabs to fine dining. Eat Reading will be celebrating our Food Heroes as well as challenging us to Reading Steady Cook. Of course, if you're watching your waistline you can always head down to the Oracle's beach and enjoy some fun in the sun (throughout August).

We have even more local talent on view through August and September as Broad Street Mall's Has Reading Got Talent gets underway - hot on the heels of the Mall's very own Model Search 2010.

Late summer brings the Comedy Festival and the Festival of Crime Writing in venues like The Hexagon, The Town Hall and Reading Central Library - and (before you know it) it will be Christmas - with all the colour and excitement of that magical time coming to life on the streets of Reading.
