Greater Reading is covered by five local authority areas (Reading Borough Council, Wokingham Borough Council, West Berkshire District Council, South Oxon District Council and North Hampshire).   

While Reading Borough Council covers all of central areas, many major suburbs and trading areas are within the boundaries of Wokingham Borough Council and West Berkshire District Council.

The Population of Borough is approx 148,000.  Population of greater Reading 250,000 approx.
