Reading is home to several major sports sides - including Reading Football Club (The Royals, currently playing in the Championship League) and London Irish RFC (Premiership Leaders on several occasions).
Both sides play at the magnificent Madejski Stadium (named for Reading's Chairman Sir John Madejski). This 25,000 seater stadium is at the heart of Reading's south side, near Green Park.
Other teams of note in the town include the University of Reading Rowing Club - nurturing some of the UK's potential rowing stars - and Reading Men's Hockey Club (the side includes many of England's national team).
