Vegan Festival 2018

RDNGTWNCNTR TOWNHALL 110311

Following the success of the inaugural Reading Vegan Festival last year, the organisers have just announced the confirmed dates for the 2018 festival.

The festival will be held at St Laurence's Church and Reading Town Hall from 10:30am till 4pm on Saturday 22nd September.

The announcement comes shortly after the launch of Ethic Collective's monthly vegan market on Station Hill, which shows the growing popularity and demand for meat and dairy alternatives in the Reading area.

Volunteers who run the festival aim to promote a healthy and environmentally-friendly lifestyle as well as the ethical and compassionate benefits for the animals and people of the planet.

People in Reading look set to have much better access and awareness regarding the vegan lifestyle through the festival veganfestand monthly market.

2017's festival was a massive success, with delicious vegan food and ethical products flying off the stalls, and the organisers hope to capitalise on that success with 2018's events.

Speakers will be organised to give information talks and demonstrations about veganism, while traders will sell items ranging from clothing to cosmetics.

Whilst the event itself is free admission, a crowdfunding page is expected to be started to raise money alongside the sale of hot drinks at the event, to go towards outreach programmes as well as towards helping keep the costs of events tree.
